My Approach
|
|
|
Relationships are the human system of
connections. While each relationship is
unique, there are universal commonalities in how persons relate and
communicate
which allow the development of a more meaningful understanding about
their own
relationships. |
| |
|
Focus: on the differentiation of the self
in all areas of relationships. |
|
• Assessment of the presenting issue or problem. |
|
| |
|
• Strategies for dealing productively with the issues and areas
causing the presenting problem.
• Plans for learning new behaviors and better employing those
already in place.
• Implementation of new strategies and evaluation of the process.
• Collaborative interventions with significant others as necessary
to reach satisfactory outcomes. |
| |
|
Process: explaining one’s situation to an
objective, caring professional can allow exploration into behavior
and the ability to try out a variety of new behaviors or to change
the direction of one’s present course.
The professional therapist is able to ask questions which assist in
developing a greater understanding of how and why one is in a
current situation or crisis.
The presence of unconditional positive regard allows for open
consideration of all issues. |
