Practice/Experience:

Extensive experience in psychiatric and mental health nursing both in the public clinical settings of a variety of hospitals as well as in private practice.

Private practice has spanned the last thirty years. Some of the areas of practice besides private psychotherapy include:

• Army Nurse Corps – Last rank as Major
• Assistant Professor in Psychiatric Nursing at Catholic University and Georgetown University
   Schools of Nursing.
• Director of the Nursing Program at Montgomery College
 

Continuing Position:

Adjunct Professor for the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) teaching group therapy and supervising third year psychiatry residents in group and marital/couples therapy.
 
 
 
 

Scholarly Activities:

Published articles on nursing and psychiatric nursing and presented at a number of conferences. She served as the President of the National Organization for Associate Degree Nursing (2002-2004) where she wrote and spoke extensively at the national level.

 

Other:

Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Clinical Specialist in Adult Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing.

Attends a minimum of 20 Continuing Education hours per year in psychiatry. Collaborates with peers in the field and consults with practitioners in their practice.
